I don't know about you but when it starts getting into mid-December, I start thinking about warmer weather again: the sunshine, rainshowers, fresh fruit and vegetables. This leads me to today's topic: agricultural visas.
Unfortunately, finding workers to perform agricultural work is difficult. Many farmers have commented that they just cannot find U.S. employees to do the farm work. If your farm is having this issue, agricultural visas may be the solution.
The H-2A program is made for farmers to be able to get the workers they need on a seasonal or temporary basis. In 2020, 9031 unique employers used the H-2A program, with over 13,552 positions available (most for more than 1 worker).
As can be seen by the numbers, this is not an insignificant program. It helps a large portion of our agricultural sector find the workers they need.
