Employment Based Immgration

There are multiple "preference categories" which allow foreign workers to come to the United States to work for an employer on a permanent basis and obtain lawful permanent resident status. Follow the links below to learn more about each program and the steps required.

EB-1 Priority Workers

This category is for persons of extraordinary ability in sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics whose achievements have been recognized in the field through extensive documentation; outstanding professors and researchers; and multinational executives and managers.

EB-2 Members of Professions Holding Advanced Degrees or Aliens of Exceptional Ability

This category allows those with an advanced degree, or those who have exceptional ability in the sciences, arts or business, to live and work in the United States as a lawful permanent resident. An employer may not be required if the work is in the national interest, and the worker may be able to self-petition.

EB-3 Professionals, Skilled and Other Workers

This catch-all category includes professionals with a baccalaureate degree, persons of the professions, skilled workers with at least two years training or work experience, and other workers with less than 2 years of training and work experience.
